The trip took us to Birdbox Lotsbergskaara, where we spent a couple of days in May. I brought my little sister along.
The goal of the trip was to enjoy the fantastic, picturesque view, read a book, relax and have a cosy time in the quiet and peaceful atmosphere the birdbox had to offer. It was an extra nice touch that we also got to celebrate Norway's Constitution Day on 17 May in a beautiful, typically Norwegian landscape, which we truly experienced here.
The stay at the cabin was truly wonderful. Once we had found the cabin's location and made our way up the little path to the birdbox itself, we were greeted by spectacular views, a cosy tray with tea, coffee and snacks, and an incredibly elegant and inviting interior.
And then there's the round birdbox window. Wow! Through it we could see the fjord with the snow-capped mountains, and we enjoyed a range of different colour displays over the days we were there. On the first day we had a beautiful sunset with reddish and pink tones. Whatever the weather, the view here will be spectacular. There were plenty of clouds during our stay, and it made absolutely no difference.
You can't avoid mentioning the view, as it makes up 90% of the concept of this cabin. And it is nothing short of spectacular.
The area offers beautiful nature, so hikes like Lotsbergnibba are great for getting some activity in during the stay. The cabin owners also have a partnership with Nordfjord Hotel, where guests can get a discount at the spa.
Along the fjord there are several lovely spots where you can go and enjoy a packed lunch, a book or simply the view. Good food and drink can also be enjoyed on the terrace of the cabin itself, and a good book can be read with the fabulous view as a backdrop, either from the bed or from the chair. We couldn't get enough of this view!
