My boyfriend and I took the train from Lund to Stockholm, a journey of six hours in total. We packed the cameras and the drone, got ready and set off with one single goal: to create memories and share them visually.
Our trip was memorable from beginning to end. The weather wasn't entirely on our side, but we made the most of every moment of sunshine that appeared and took full advantage of every opportunity to explore and capture the experience.
What made the stay truly special was how different it felt compared to a regular hotel. We always love stepping outside our comfort zone, and this unique place offered exactly that. Waking up surrounded by hundreds of boats, watching the marina slowly come to life each morning and feeling the calm rhythm of life on the water created an atmosphere that felt both refreshing and inspiring.
It wasn't just a place to sleep. It was an experience that let us slow down, appreciate our surroundings and enjoy a completely different side of travel.
What we loved most was the unique sensation of floating on the water. It created such a peaceful atmosphere that you simply can't find at a regular hotel. And even though it rained for most of the stay, it somehow made the whole experience even cosier.
Listening to the raindrops while being gently rocked by the marina's soft movements was incredibly relaxing. Waking up to a panoramic view straight from the bed was unforgettable: surrounded by nature, still water and hundreds of boats all at once.
If you are planning a stay at Bullandö, here are a few experiences we really recommend.
Eat at Bullandö Krog: enjoy great food with a beautiful view of the marina and a relaxed coastal atmosphere. It's the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring.
Take a walk around Bullandö Marina: stroll along the jetties, admire the impressive boats and soak in the peaceful atmosphere of one of Stockholm's most charming marinas.
Recharge in the sauna: there's nothing better than warming up after a day outdoors. It's the perfect way to relax and embrace the Scandinavian way of life.
Explore Stockholm's archipelago: take a trip to nearby islands like Vaxholm, where you'll find picturesque streets, waterfront cafés, historic landmarks and stunning coastal nature.
